About the nutrition system used here
This app builds its nutrition plans on a specific dietary system that divides foods into permitted and forbidden. That system is widely contested scientifically and medically, and rests far more on individual observation and anecdote than on documented study.
There are medical reports of serious deterioration in people who followed this kind of system after stopping necessary medication without adequate supervision. We state this plainly because it is part of what you should know before starting, and because the decision to begin should be a fully informed one.
Medication
Do not stop or change any prescribed medication on your own, whatever the recommendation.
This applies especially to diabetes, blood pressure and immune-condition medication. Stopping abruptly can cause serious complications or a sharper return of symptoms. Any change must be gradual and supervised by the physician responsible for your care.
This app will never ask you to change a medication, and no programme will mention doses or drugs. If you ever see that, it is a fault — report it and do not act on it.
Speak to your doctor first if you are
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Diabetic, especially if you use insulin
- Being treated for blood pressure or a heart condition
- Living with kidney or liver disease
- Living with an autoimmune condition
- Someone with a history of disordered eating
- Under 18
Specialist review
Every programme in this app is reviewed and approved by a specialist before it reaches you. That review is an extra safety step; it does not replace consulting your own doctor, and it is not a diagnosis or a treatment for your condition.
